Winter wants

Winter has most definitely arrived in the UK. I don't know how the rest of the world is coping but having to scrap the ice off of my car windscreen in the morning has already started!

Therefore as it is winter there are lots of new clothes and home furnishings out that I am loving! Here are my winter wants, so snuggle up with a hot drink and have a read.

To start with the tartan print is everywhere at the moment. I keep seeing so many people with tartan scarfs on as well, now I was a bit sceptical about this trend. I don't actually feel I could pull this trend off greatly, however all that changed today when I ordered a tartan dress from New Look. I have decided to throw out any worries and just go for it! I mean all these other people rock the look!

Next on my list of lovely winter wants is practically all of the Lush shop! They have their Christmas lovelies out now and I have been in twice since they arrived (sadly buying for others). So I have sniffed and cooed over all of their lovely bath bombs and gift boxes etc. Although I clearly don't take enough baths given the fact I have a gift box STILL WRAPPED from last year! Bad news I know!
This is the Candy Mountain (image from Lush). I bought one of these for a friend for Christmas and it smelt amazing! I may actually go back for one for myself! It was so hard not to buy more and more each time! Especially when the staff were so friendly and kept introducing me to new things!

Next up is more fashion as I would rather love some great Chelsea boots! However I'm not really a heel wearer and will more likely than not be found in my converse trainers or some other type of flat shoe. They look so great and I'm sure must go with everything! These great ones from New Look are perfect however I think I may have to work my way up to heels like this for everyday footwear!

And last but not least I would love to have a weekend just snuggled up by a wood fire with all the Christmas decorations dotted around. It just seems like such a lovely idea especially as the cold sets in and maybe even some snow according to the weather forecast!

Do you have anything that you are wanting this winter? Are you looking forward to the longer, colder nights (if your heading into winter that is)?

Top 5: Lip products everyone should own

Now that it has hit winter in the UK (it has become cold, dark and wet here therefore it is winter), it is even more important to have some key lip products in rotation! The colder it gets the more chapped my lips become ( a common problem I'm sure). Here are my top 5 products for keeping lips looking luscious this winter.

1. Lip exfoliator
This may sound obvious but having soft lips starts with an exfoliator. Like your body your lips need to get rid of the dead skin too! Plus if you don't exfoliate then your other lip products just won't sit right! There are lots out there but two that take my fancy are the E.L.F Lip exfoliator (which I bought today to try) is in a handy tube which you can pop in your handbag and the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub which is an amazing bright pink (must purchase that one soon).

2. Lip balm
Again a very simple solution but it will make the world of difference. Lip balms are especially good for those days when you aren't getting too dressed up or its just to windy to handle having your hair stick to your lipgloss! Super easy to pop in your handbag and use throughout the day that your lips with thank you through being super soft ready for those lipstick moments! I particularly enjoy ChapSticks in Cherry flavour (I mean if its good enough for Katy Perry…) as well as the classic Vaseline (I don't know anyone who doesn't carry at least one of these with them in the winter time).

3. Lipstick
This is one I have started to wear more often these days, I think I have found my easy day to day colours. I think everyone should own a colour that when they buy it is out of their comfort zone! This may sound silly and you're probably saying "that's stupid, I'll never wear it then", but trust me, wear it those few times, around the house to start with if you want but eventually you will feel more confident! I never thought a coral lipstick would look good on me! I had seen lots of others pulling it off fabulously but after a few wears it is now one of my more favourite colours I own! In fact that lipstick is Rimmel Coral in Gold!

4. Lip Gloss
Now lip gloss is very good for popping in your handbag when you are out at your Christmas parties this year by adding that extra bit of glamour to your outfit! I say this but I am not a big lipgloss fan, mainly because as anyone with long hair will know that hair + lipgloss + wind = a completely sticky mess! If you have shorter hair or are having an undo for your party then go ahead! Even layer a gloss over a lipstick to give that lovely sheen, however you have been warned that the classic English winter weather and lipgloss are not combined well!

5. Lip crayon
I have recently come to love lip crayons! It is like colouring in but for your makeup, theres no fiddling and there is much less chance of messing it up (unless you have never really been any good at staying in the lines!). Again I have begun this by loving a coral coloured lip crayon from E.L.F again, Studio Matte Lip Colour in Coral, this was so easy to use and it meant that I could decide how much colour I wanted on my lips so easily!

So now you are prepared to face the cold British weather and come out the other side with lips so fabulous they will be able to hold up any summer bright easily!

What lip products do you swear by to get you through the colder months?

Top 5: Bloggers you should be following

I love writing my blog. But I love reading blogs even more! Finding out about loads of even more new products, places to eat and things to do! That's why I have compiled a list of 5 bloggers I think you should be reading and following!

To start with is the lovely little lady who actually inspired me to start my blog! Zoella! She is awesome (getting slightly fangirl right now!) but she writes/films/photographs just like she is talking to you. She talks about everything! From shopping to hair/ makeup and even some personal issues. She is so down to Earth even after recently winning a Radio 1 Teen award! I love watching her videos on her Youtube channel . Definitely check her out!

Another great blogger/ Youtuber is Louise AKA Sprinkle of Glitter. She focuses on everything, beauty, life and her super cute toddler (Baby Glitter). She also does great posts giving advice, her knowledge and motivation for those off days we all have! Not only that but her and Zoella are besties so you often see them together in posts/videos!

Another great blogger that I love to keep up with. She focuses a bit more on fashion and putting outfits together! But being a lecturer in fashion you can be sure she knows her stuff! She does shorter but still just as sweet posts with lots of lovely pictures to look at as well!

This lovely lady covers such a range of topics from travelling to some amazing food! Seriously if you like travel, food or just reading about beautiful places to get some inspiration check this lady out! To be perfectly honest I am slightly jealous of how much she travels and the amazing places she has been! Plus she has a super cute dog called Custard!

As can be deducted from the name of the blog this blogger focuses on the cheaper side of makeup and clothes but with no loss to quality! She does lots of makeup styles, reviews as well as an uplifting Hump Day Haha! She has also taken on the world of Youtube and you can watch both her normal channel as well as her vlogging channel where she shows the different things her family are getting up to. Very light hearted and always fun to read/ watch!

If there are any others you think I should be reading/ watching let me know in the comments below!
