Benefit BrowArch March!

As we are nearing the end of March I thought it would be a good time to tell you all about the amazing time I had at the Benefit Browbar. This was all part of the Benefit BrowArch March.

I have always had problems with my brows, they always never seemed to go quite right when ever I plucked them. So instead I plucked up the chance to go for a proper wax and arch!

I went in a booked my appointment with the Brow Expert! What a job title to have!

I turned up to my appointment and was welcomed to take a sit at their Browbar. The lovely Brow expert then talked with me about what I wanted. I had originally booked in for just a wax but she suggested that I go for a Brow tint as well. I have naturally very light brows which don't really match with my hair.

She tested it out on me to give me an idea of what it would look like. It automatically looked amazing and all she had done was colour my brow in with an arch!

I decided to take the plunge and go for a brow tint and wax!

This is the before photo that I took on my way to the appointment.

As you can see they were super light and without powder on you could hardly see them.

This is my after photo that I took while I went around shopping.

As you can see they look much better and more defined! I also love the shape of them as they really lift my eyes! The tint will last for 4 weeks and to keep the shape I just need to pluck, but not too much!

Through having my eyebrows done with Benefit I was able to donate the £5 from my brow wax to Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) a charity that is dedicated to helping those who have lost self-esteem due to cancer treatment. The charity help them to look good which in turn makes them feel better.

If you have a chance possibly next year by the time this comes out you should defiantly do it!

Retail Park shopping

Recently I decided that I couldn't be bothered with the mayhem that is town so I decided to go to a retail park we have near to us.

There are a range of shops there T K Maxx, Matalan, Home Bargains that sort of thing including a few more random shops such as Halfords.

I knew I wanted to try and find some new boots as I have recently worn my old ones to death and decided getting wet feet on my walk into work was no longer acceptable! I was also on the hunt for something I could wear to my friends wedding which is happening in May.

My first stop was Matalan to look for some new boots for work. I happened upon a size 5 pair of boots, now normally I'm a size 6 but decided to try them on anyway! Amazingly they fit! So they were practically bought already! For only £20 it was a steal as well.

Next I piped over to T K Maxx, I do love a good mooch about the place for a good bargain! They always have loads of beauty products such as hair and body wash from great brands. Today I was on the hunt for dresses. I searched through lots of dresses and even took an armful to try on, however only two suited me and I felt comfortable in.

Just a quick changing room selfie with my socks on! haha

This is a possible dress to wear to my friends wedding, I'm thinking of wearing it if the weather isn't too great! However as it is a May wedding there is a high chance that it will (fingers crossed) be sunny! So I have another outfit lined up. Keep your eyes peeled as I will be showing both off complete with accessories in a later post once both outfits are sorted.

This shows that retail park can give you some great fashion items at low prices!

Boots Haul!

On my day off this week I decided to pop into town to book my appointment with the lovely ladies at the Benefit counter for my Browarch March brows!

While I was there I happened to be drawn into Boots and towards the makeup, does that happen to anyone else? It always happens to me!

Well while I was there just looking around I remembered that I was actually in the market for getting a primer. I had heard loads of great things about these and although I wanted one more specifically for my eyelids if I could find one for a more general thing as well that would be all good!

So I was drawn to the Rimmel section of the makeup and found a Stay Matte Primer at £5.99. So while I was umming and ahhhing (a lot of that is done) about buying it I noticed that it was also 3 for 2 on all makeup! How great is that!

Then I noticed a new concealer that I hadn't seen before, Rimmel Match Perfection Skin tone adapting concealer in Classic Beige. This is more a 2-in-1 concealer/ highlighter as it says on the tube! I really like this one as it requires no fingers! There is a brush end so it just requires you to squeeze the tube until some product comes out. With a screw top as well you can be sure the lid is not coming off in your bag.

I then knew I wanted a new mascara as well, although I do like my current e.l.f one I know I need to replace it soon as you shouldn't keep them too long! I went to the Collection stand (I think it was previously called Collection 2000) and found a Does it All waterproof mascara. When they say it does it all they mean: curling, volumising, long wearing, conditioning and waterproof. This sounds like it could be an all round winner in terms of a high street mascara.

So I decided I should head to the tills before I spent too much more!

Then as I made my way to the till I saw all the magazines and knew there was one I just had to buy! on the front of this months Company magazine is the lovely Zoella! She is the biggest thing in Youtube at the moment and if you haven't seen or heard of her go and check her out!

While sat in bed I read the great but short article about Zoella.

I have my Benebrows appointment on thursday so I am hoping to do a blog post on that soon as well. If you haven't heard about the Browarch March you should head down to you local Debenhams with a Benefit bar and help donate to an amazing charity called Look Good Feel Better. It supports women and teenagers who are suffering from the visible side effects of cancer. If that isn't an amazing reason to go an donate while getting your brows done I don't know what is!!

The Body Shop love!

Recently I decided to have a bit of a The Body Shop splurge! I knew I wanted some new skin care products as I really am trying to do the whole cleanse and tone thing every night. It hasn't worked out as well as I thought it would!

So heading into the store with a view to buying at least some skin care myself and my bank card were prepared!

After much umming and ahhhing about what to actually buy I settled on this two lovely things!

This is the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner and the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser. Although I have not actually started using these yet I am looking forward to seeing if my skin does feel and look better after trying to keep to a night routine!

I also decided to buy this:

Also from the Vitamin E collection this Illuminating Moisture Cream is amazing! I have used this quite a few times now, mainly on days when I haven't bothered with base makeup. It makes my face have an illuminating glow which is really nice and it soaks in so quickly that it is great as a quick face pick me up before running out the door to work!

I also grabbed one of these:

As it was close to Valentines I picked up one of their Divine Calm Relaxing Massage Oils which smells amazing! Again I haven't got round to using this but I can't wait to try it out.

As I spent over £18 on makeup and skin care it meant I got to have one of these lovely little gifts from them all for free!

Included in this lovely little gift was a miniature version of the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser, a sample of the Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask, a Big and Curvy mascara as well as a black eyeliner pencil. This pack will come in super handy when travelling and visiting people especially the cleanser as it is perfect for fitting in an overnight bag.

Come back soon for an update on the cleanser and toner.

Where have you been all my life?

Ok imagine the title of this blog to be sang by Rihanna and it makes a lot more sense!!

This is more of an update post about what I've been up to recently! So the last time I blogged was on the 3rd January this year! How utterly horrendous is that!

The main reason I haven't been blogging is that I kind of lost my spark for it but I think it is back!

January was also a pretty hectic month for me! Not only was it my birthday and myself and friends went rock climbing which was awesome! But I also finished at my old job in a supermarket and started my super new exciting job in healthcare!

My amazing birthday rock climbing!

So my February was a bit crazy as I settled into my new job which I am loving as it is using my degree a lot more than working in a supermarket was!

But it was valentines day during February so I did get to see the other half in Wales and we had a lovely takeaway Nandos while watching TV at home! Just what you want after a long week working!

I decided to treat him and bought him some lovely Lush bath bombs for Valentines as well. I got him a Ickle Baby Bot which he said he loved as well as some other bits and pieces.

At the end of February I applied for another job again (technically a new job but really just my job on another pay band up!). So at the beginning of March I had my interview and waited patiently for the outcome. I finally found out a few days later that I had done it and got the job!

So that is my little round up of what I have been up to. I hope you haven't missed me too much!

New Year Sales Haul

Hope you all had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year. I enjoyed spending time with my family at both big days.

But more importantly have you visited the sales yet? Online or in the shops I love to go and try and find a bargain!  I must warn you this is a very picture heavy post, but everyone loves photos!

This year I have decided to try and get a bit more organised, this meant keeping an eye out for anything which would make for great presents for people. I managed to pick up a few things that I have put away in a present box ready.

This lovely Sanctuary bag was down to £9 from £18!

It was packed full of things!
One of the gifts I picked up was a lovely Sanctuary bag which cost £9 as it was half price in Boots. I really love this and would like to actually keep it myself. There is also a similar kit that is slightly cheaper and still available online.

Ted Baker, down to £5

The second thing I picked up in Boots was this lovely Ted Baker box, as it was reduced to £5 I thought this would be nice to put with something else for someone's birthday. The box is also lovely so it can be kept by its new owner to store other lovely things.

Next I went to Sainsburys, the top box was £1.50 and the bottom was £3.40 both reduced in the sale. Again the top one is something that would be nice to put with a piece of jewellery. The second is slightly larger and would be great by itself or with something small again. The second makes me think of Soap and Glory as well.

Next I went to Lush and got some Candy Cane Mountains and a Cinders bath bombs. I thought I would give these as presents as well, but then I noticed their best before date....oh well guess I'll have to use them...what a shame!

I went into The Body Shop knowing they often have good sales on everything. I found the above perfume, Love Etc., at only £5 so grabbed one of those. When I went to the till my Body Shop Card had expired and for an extra £4.50 (you get 10% off) I got this warming mineral mask (worth £10) for free! So I jumped at that!

While I was in Boots picking up the above for presents I also grabbed a more on trend lipstick in a deep purple. This one is from Seventeen in Rule Breaker. I also spotted this foundation discounted down to only £2, again by Seventeen in the Photo Flawless range.

I also popped into Primark. I looked at their sale items and I didn't find anything that really rocked my boat. But I did find this lovely shirt in a deep red and a cream coloured jumper which I have been wearing together. I also picked up this little skater skirt which is purple and black striped. I also bought a gold chain necklace. I was super unsure whether or not this would suit me. Some people pull off the gold-chain-under-a-shirt look so well. So I decided to go for it and I'm glad I did! Maybe I will do some sort of look book soon (if I can work up the courage).

Again in Sainsbury's I got this Deep Barrel Waver by Phil Smith, a brand specific to Sainsbury's. I got this for £17.99 in the sale down from £49.99! What a saving! I have tried it out a few times and it does take a little getting used to and the main problem I have found is trying to get the hair in between the two plates. But I love the look it gives, not quite curls, not quite a complete mess on my head! I will put up a more detailed review later in the month.

What have you grabbed in the sales?

P.S. I have got some New Look sales items coming soon as well so look out for that post!

Blogmas Day 13: It's Christmas Eve!!

This is it! The big day is just a few hours of sleep away!

I hope you are nearly all ready for Christmas as there isn't much time left to go!

I'm most looking forward to a bit of a lie-in as well as some great home cooked food with my parents. I have just gotten back from visiting my boyfriend where we exchanged gifts as well as went to see The Hobbit. I really liked the film as I enjoy seeing all the different sets and this film did not disappoint! I would highly recommend it! It was great to have a few days with the other half before Christmas.

I hope you all have a great time tomorrow and don't forget that lots of sales will start tomorrow as well as Boxing Day. A few places that have started already are Paperchase, New Look as well as Currys.

I know I will be looking at some of the online sales to find some bargains!

Merry Christmas and stay safe in this horrible British weather!
